Alas, the song, it dies,
Constantly, as it is sung...

Is it a naive dream of
The 'waking classes'?

Or some ‘opium’ of
The singing sirens?

Lash me to the mast
‘Tis some strange magic

“Thou shall not … question!”
Say the tyrants, and the lazy!
