Howard's hypocrisy, and the hubris of the whole ugly cluster of the last decade of 'coalition' power abuse, has now become what it always was – farce comedy. Only, whereas before it was sad and frustrating, now it is entertaining and enjoyable. Watching and hearing Rudd speak mandarin today made it clear how the new emerging Australian leader differs from the old boorish has been.

Howard should stay so we can see his pain on election night at being tossed out of government and his seat. We’d also like to see Downer and Ruddock ditched as well. So, JA, it has ‘Bennalong’ time … which little liberal are you going to cream yourself over next year! Watch out Turnbull you might end up with a little ex-Howard groupie camping on your front lawns.
